Myanmar is an agricultural country where rice industry is the most predominant segment in agriculture and agribusiness areas. Rice industry, in addition to its crucial aspect of national food security, has been connected culturally, traditionally and Socialeconomically with majority of the population in Myanmar. In rural Myanmar, rice is being cultivated during the monsoon season with the annual cultivation of about 15 million acers and in summer season, about 2 million acers. On average, the annual production is about 13-14 million metric tons of milled rice, out of which domestic consumption amounts to 10-11 million metric tons and annual surplus of about 3 million metric tons. Myanmar’s export contribution to international rice market is about 2 million metric tons annually.
Myanmar mostly export white rice, parboiled rice, broken rice and small quantity of premium quality fragrant rice.
Excel International Trading Company has been one of the rice manufacturing and trading companies in Myanmar which cover both domestic and global rice trading network ( USA, China, South Africa, Bangladesh and Japan ). The Stay of Excel International trading has started with local rice trading named “ MYA” ( Representing Myanmar) Since 1999 with a group of rice traders in Ayeyarwady division which is also known as of the country. It has expanded by establishing two rice mills in few years steeping into the next point of local trading network and distribution to upper Myanmar market.
Along with the change in government’s rice exporting policy, we have been working closely with leading rice traders and exporters by supplying rice to South Africa and some Asia’s markets since 2005. The rice trading business had grown up progressively in both local and global rice trading network. Below time line show you our journey since then till 2020. If has been almost two decades in the rice industry since 1999 and we keep going steadily aiming bigger images in future working together with local and international partners.
